Fun in October!

I am finally getting around to posting about Kylie's birthday party. It was a great success! There were probably over 25 people here. We did a craft, ate pizza, and lady bug cupcaks. And, of course, we opened presents (unfortunately I ran out of room on my camera so no present pics...sorry). Here she is just before the party in her party dress (thanks Shanilee for lending this to her, she looked beautiful). She was a little under the weather but a piece of candy cheered her up right away. :)
They didn't have any lady bug birthday banners at the store so I made one especially for Kylie. It was fun! The whole thing said, "Happy Birthday Kylie."

A nice cheesy smile with candy in her mouth...hahahaha, she cracks me up!

This was the lady bug craft we did that I found online. It was sooo much fun, and a perfect thing to do considering the weather (it was raining cats and dogs outside during the entire party).

Kylie twirling with a balloon and waiting for guests to show up. ;)

Finally digging into her cupcake...yum!

These were the cupcakes I made with my friend Shanilee. The lady bugs are actually Snackwell cookies dipped in frosting. With Mini M&Ms for the dots. The leaves they are sitting on are actually rolled out green gum drops. We had soo much fun making them!
CLOSE UP! That is about all the pictures I had for her party. The rest of the pictures are the Halloween costumes I made for Kylie and I.

I made this dress for Kylie since ALL of the Repunzel dresses were either sold out or too expensive. Since Kylie has the perfect hair for Repunzel, I was determined that she was going to be her for halloween. I made the dress in one day (without a pattern).  It turned out WAY better than I thought it would. I also got a little creative and made her sleeves from an old pair of Kylie's pantyhose.

This shirt I made for myself. Since I am 21 weeks pregnant, and definitely showing I decided not to really dress up and just wear a cute t-shirt.  My sister-in-law Christine emailed me a really cut t-shirt for Halloween but it would have cost me $30.00 to have. I thought, "I am not going to spend that much on a shirt I only plan on wearing once" Soooo, once again I had to get creative. I was going to paint the design on a black t-shirt I had, but realized I had no paint...nor money to buy paint. And, thanks to an AMAZING website called, "Pinterest," I was able to find another way to put the design on my shirt. I first got a white colored pencil and drew the design, and then, just got a paint brush, some bleach water, and painted the design on the shirt. And this is how it turned out!......
I have to say, it came out better than I expected and it came out cuter than I expected. Oh how I love crafts!
