I am in New Mexico on vacation right now and since my parents have internet, I can actually BLOG!!!! Yay!!! So here is a SUPER LONG update. I have pix from my Utah trip for General Conferenc, pix for Kylie, Matthew's Birthday, and a new hobby of mine. I am in New Mexico because my baby sister Kathleen is graduating this Saturday and I suprised her with visit. I will be here for two weeks, and hopefuly, I will have more updates while I am here. :) Soooo, shall we?
This is the view of Salt Lake City, Utah..... lots of Mountains and snow. It was breathtakeingly beautiful!!!
More beauty
Even more beauty.... Oh I was in heaven. We had so much fun
This is the view from the doorstep of where we were staying (Kylie, Matthew, and I).
We went to "The Aquarium," while we were there also and they had some neat things I've never seen up close before... like this sting ray (we were allowed to pet it... I didn't, got a little grossed out).
We also saw some penguins, these were Matthews favorite, he loved watching them dive in and out of the water.
We also saw "Nemo," the clown fish, "Finding Nemo" isn't one of Matthew's favorite movies so he didn't know who I was talking about, but....
He still enjoyed them1 :) He just kept saying, "pish pish pish" (that's how he says fish, hehe)
And, the highlight of the trip...... General Conference!!! I sat super close, and I almost didn't get to go at all, it was trully a miracle! I'll tell you why. My father in-law (Gary), sister in-law (Karri), her husband (Jared) and I , were going to go to the Saturday morning session. The night before, we learned that Gary forgot to get tickets for us from his bishop, so no tickets, but he said we'll just wait in the stand-by line for ticket. So, the next morning, we went to stand in line, but to astonishment there was no line. We asked the person in charge of the stand by line and he told us, "For the first time ever we have decided to cancel the stand by line because some people did not have the right spirit and were being irreverent." "Great!" We thought, "now what?" I was still suprisingly optimistic. I mean I was in Utah for the first time and Temple Square for the first time, so I was going to enjoy it dang it! Well, Karri and Jared took of sprinting down Temple Square asking everyone in sight for tickets. Meanwhile, I went to the visitor center to look around and soak in everything, I mean, I was still SUPER excited to be where I was (General Conference or not). Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate. It was Karri, she told me that Jared and her said a little prayer and instantly found some women that gave them a ticket. Well, it doesn't end there. I felt sad that I was the only one going in but at the same time I was the only one out of our group that has never been. So, I dashed in and took my seat on the second floor balcony, right in the middle. I started talking to a really nice lady next to me and she wanted to hear my story (why I was by myself, etc.). After I told her, she said, "Well, my husband has a seat for the floor seating and wants to sit with us, so do you want his ticket? WHAT?!?!!! So, I said, "YES" immediately and dashed downstairs and, now I had an EXTREMELY close seat. And, to top it off, this session I went to seamed to be all about motherhood! I could not ask for a more awesome experience!!!!
And, here was my view....
M.O.T.A.B.! Another Awesome experience, they also sang my favorite childrens hymn, "He Sent His Son!!!!!!" IT COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!!!
Motab, part of the 70, and the twelve appostles...
And, of course, I couldn't leave out the ridiculous and crazy protestors. This guy was pretty funny (and when I say funny, I mean CCRRAZY).
SLC Temple, it was absolutely beautiful. It's a lot smaller in person, I didn't expect that. I also didn't know there were constallations engraved on the temple, pretty neat.
Angel Moroni....
Proof I was there, lol! Here is the sign.
Here are some pix of Kyli....my beautiful baby girl :)
WHOA, close up!
Ah, that's better. Oh, she's so cute.
This is her first bite of solid food at six months old (She is eight months old now if you were wondering.... I knew you were, hehe).
Yay, bathtime. She loves, loves bathtime;)
And, now on to Matthew's 2nd birthday which was May 1st. We threw him a "Toy Story" theme party. Because, he just looovvvvves "uzz-ight-ear" (Buzz Lightyear). Not one bakery in town had a Toy Story cake, so I improvised. I did the best I could (my little brother Seth helped with the face). Here is a made from scratch, Buzz, cake.
"Pin the badge on the character," game. The kids had so much fun with this game, they didn't want to stop!
Now time for PRESENTS!!! He loved everything he got!
He was so excited he wouldn't sit still, so sorry about the blurry pictures. LOL!
This is what mommy and daddy got him (it will be great for Halloween also).
And, now for my new hobby..... Fruit Bouques! I tried it for the first time at a Sentsy Party I threw a few months ago. A friend of mine asked me to do this for a party she was throwing for her sisters graduation. So, I did 3 different arrangements, and I think they came out great (even better then the first time I attempted it). Those are black grapes by the way, not olives:)
It looks delicious.
Yummy, I am getting hungry now. Oh, and those are melon balls in the vase.
Top views....
And that's that.
Well I hope you enjoyed that extremely long post, and hopefully I will be able to blog again soon. Take care everyone, I am going to relax now, CAUSE I'M ON VACATION!!! LOL!
